Regional Cooperation Initiative

The Butler Board of Commissioners are planning to meet with elected officials in the near future to discuss opportunities where cities, townships and villages may be able to share resources with the county to increase efficiency and save money.

While the federal government’s economic stimulus package calls for additional spending, local governments are still plagued with state budget reductions and apathy for changes in the local tax rates. A discussion about changes to local government is timely due to the condition of the local and national economies.

In this tough economic climate, it is more important than ever to look at creative and innovative ways to save taxpayer dollars. We would be doing our citizens an injustice if we did not look at many different ways to increase efficiency and save money.

The Board of Commissioners is asking the public to provide their opinions on how to improve local government services in an online survey.

Please take a few minutes to complete our online survey located in the yellow box to the right. After completing the survey, if you have any further suggestions or questions regarding the regional cooperation initiative, please contact us by clicking this link and filling out our contact form (the form will open in a new window).

Thank you for your feedback. Your opinions are important to us!
