Welcome to the Butler County Operation Heroes Web Site.

This site, dedicated by the Butler County Commissioners in February of 2004, serves as pictorial tribute to the thousands of men and woman who left Butler County to answer their Country's call against the greatest evil the world has ever known.

It is also a tribute to a generation who unselfishly gave their husbands, wives, sons and daughters over to the fight for human decency.

It is a reminder that to offer oneself in the protection of those unable to protect themselves from evil is the obligation of all great nations on this planet.

But more than that, it is a thank you. For it is in gratitude that we portray those individuals who quietly went to war, came home, started families and businesses, and built a Country that would continue to serve as the undeniable proof that responsibility and freedom are the foundations of any great nation.

The pictures and narratives found within this site are both memories and reminders. They are the memories of the "greatest generation" and reminders to the future of the responsibility that true greatness requires
