Criminal and Traffic Cases
Butler County Area I Court hears criminal and traffic cases on Thursday of each week. In the morning on Thursdays, a magistrate hears domestic violence cases beginning at 8:00 A.M. and the judge holds court from 10:00 A.M. to 12 noon. At 11:30 A.M, the Court hears Reviews of prior cases and Orders to Appear. Prisoners are arraigned at approximately 1:30 P.M. In the afternoon on Thursday, preliminary hearings, bench trials, and reviews of prior cases begin at approximately 1:30 P.M. or after the completion of the arraignments. Afternoon Court remains in session until all cases on the docket have been heard.

Civil Cases
Every Wednesday, a magistrate presides over Eviction Hearings, Small Claims, and Civil Cases beginning at 1:15 P.M. Court remains in session until all cases on the docket have been heard.

Pretrial Conferences - Criminal, Traffic and Civil
On Thursdays, attorneys may sign up for criminal and/or traffic pretrial conferences at the clerk’s window from 7:45 A.M. to 8:30 A.M..
On Wednesdays, civil pretrial conferences are scheduled from 1:00 P.M. to 1:15 P.M.

Criminal and Traffic Cases
Butler County Area II Court is in session on Wednesday of each week. The magistrate hears domestic violence cases beginning at 8:00 A.M. The judge holds the morning session of court from 9:30 A.M. to 12 noon. Traffic cases are heard beginning at 9:30 A.M. Humane association citations and park violations are heard beginning at 11:00 A.M.

The afternoon session of court begins at 1:30.  Prisoners are arraigned at approximately 1:30 P.M. Preliminary hearings, bench trials, and reviews of prior cases are heard immediately after prisoners.  The afternoon session of Court continues until all cases on the docket have been heard.

Civil Cases
Every Friday, a magistrate presides over civil hearings. Pretrial conferences begin at 8:15 A. M.. Eviction matters are heard at 8:30 A. M.. and Small Claims cases and other civil matters are heard at 9:00 A. M... Bench trials will be heard at 10:00 A. M.and court remains in session until all cases on the docket have been heard.

Video Initial Appearances are heard daily at Area II Court for all three Area Courts.  Videos are heard in the Magistrates Courtroom on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse in downtown Hamilton.  The schedules is as follows:  Monday, 10 a.m.; Tuesday, 11 a.m.; Wednesday, 9 a.m.; Thursday 10 a.m. and Friday, 9:30 a.m.

Pretrial Conferences - Criminal, Traffic and Civil
Pretrial conferences are scheduled by appointment only and have duration of ten minutes. Criminal and traffic pretrial conferences are scheduled from 8:00 A.M. to 9:20 A.M..

Criminal and Traffic Cases

Butler County Area III Court is in session on Tuesday, and Wednesday. Bench trials are scheduled on two Friday’s of each month.

On Tuesday, court is in session from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and 1:00 p.m. to completion.
The schedule is as follows:
8:00 a.m. Traffic/Criminal docket
1:00 p.m. Felony Prisoner Arraignments & 1:00 p.m. Probation Violations
1:30 p.m. Preliminary Hearings

These times are approximate and actual starting times will be determined by case volume.

On Wednesday, court is in session from Noon to completion

* NON-ENGLISH SPEAKING AND TRAFFIC DOCKET
All non- English speaking defendants except those charged with felonies and all defendants cited for license violations, i.e. DUS, No O/L, Expired O/L etc., IF NOT associated with an OVI, Reckless Operation, Hit-Skip, Fleeing and Eluding or Felony charges. Interpreters are present for this docket.


On scheduled Fridays, court is in session from 8:00 to completion

Bench trials, Motions to Suppress, Civil Objections and Weddings may be scheduled by contacting the court.

On the Third Monday, court is in session from 1:00 p.m. until all cases are completed. 1:00 p.m. Contested Domestic Violence Cases

Civil Cases

Civil Pretrials are scheduled from 8:15 to 8:30 a.m. every Wednesday.

Pretrial Conferences - Criminal, Traffic and Civil

All pretrial conferences are scheduled by appointment only and each conference has a duration of ten minutes for a Judge's case.

8:00 to 10:00 A. M. Criminal and Traffic pretrials for Judge's docket.

Wednesday
Pretrials are conducted on the record, in the courtroom.
